Open Session
The Open Session will be held in the plenary lecture hall of the
Congress Centre on Tuesday morning, 26 May. The main topic is Planning
of Modern Tunnels Project. Details will be posted on the congress
website www.wtc2009.org.
Pre-Congress Education
The Pre-Congress Educational Course will be held at the Budapest
University of Technology and Economics on 22–23 May 2009. The programme will also
include a poster session - in case of min. 10 posters are submitted - based on the posters submitted by the
participants, from which the best one will be awarded. Participation is
highly recommended for young engineers as it serves an excellent
opportunity for theoretical and practical training. Detailed information

on "Technology Innovation in Underground Construction"

The European integrated project
“Technology
Innovation in Underground Construction (TUNCONSTRUCT)” is with a
budget of 24 M€ and 41 partners the biggest single project on
underground construction ever undertaken. The four year project will
finish in August 2009 and the workshop will present some innovations
developed. The areas of innovation range from design, construction
processes and technologies to maintenance and repair.
The Workshop will take place at the congress venue
after the Open Session on Tuesday. Participation is free of charge, but
limited to 100 persons. Advance registration is obligatory to take part
in the workshop which can be made using the
online registration facility of WTC2009.
